A clinical trial is a way of testing a new medication or treatment. These trials are conducted to determine the safety and efficacy of the treatment before it can be released to the public. It is important that we understand how the human body responds to the treatment.

Clinical trials can be “early phase” studies (phase 1, 2, 3, etc) where a treatment is tested to assess its general safety, and if there are any side effects. In this stage of testing.

Healthy volunteer participants in a clinical trial are usually eligible for remuneration that covers their time, travel expenses and parking.
All payments are reviewed and approved by an Ethics Committee and factor in numerous elements such as travel and parking expenses, time, etc.
There is no cost for joining a clinical trial – so register now and if any trials come up which suit you, you will be contacted, with no obligation.
If you’re unable to complete the clinical trial, you’ll receive a partial payment based on the number of visits you have made to our unit.
It is important to note that no deductions for taxation purposes will be made and participants are solely responsible for reporting all payment amounts on their tax return.
You are generally not paid for attending a screening appointment.

Step 1: Fill Out an Online Application
You simply register here with us and when a clinical trial becomes available that fits your details, we contact you about it – you then attend a screening appointment, either with us or the clinical trial facility to determine if you are completely eligible for the clinical trial.

Step 2: Pre-screening Over the Phone
The next step will be for one of our friendly recruitment team members to give you a call to review your online application and find out more about you.

Step 3: Attend an In-Person Screening Appointment
Our Recruitment team will arrange a date and time for the screening appointment, and explain the screening procedures involved – generally, the screening appointment is a comprehensive medical check-up, and your results can be sent to you afterwards. The screening team and doctors will determine whether or not you are eligible for the trial based on your results, and contact you to inform you of the outcome.

Step 4: Participate in a Trial and Help Medical Research
The last step is to participate in a clinical trial with will involve completing all of the study requirements that the trial you’re participating in consists of. This may include a period of staying in our clinic and attending follow up appointments, or the trial could be appointment only study

New treatments undergo extensive testing before they can be tested in clinical trials, and each trial requires approval by an independent, government-registered ethics committee.

While we do everything in our power to eliminate risk, there may be risks associated with participating in a clinical trial. We take every effort to determine any risks during pre-clinical and early clinical studies, but there may be side effects and other health risks that we are unable to anticipate, mainly because side effects can differ from person to person. All participants are monitored by a team of clinical and medical professionals while on a trial, and the principal study Dr for each trial can be contacted at any time if required.

Each clinical research facility has a different approach to privacy – most have an open bed area, like you might find in a hospital, but much more high-tech and in a private ward where the public are forbidden from entering.
